Effects of Fluid-Structure Interaction on Dynamic Responses of Composite Structures: Experimental and Numerical Studies
Kwon, Young W.
MetadataShow full item record
The technical objectives of the study were to understand and predict the effects of fluid-structure interaction on the dynamic responses and failures of polymer composite structures used for naval applications. More specifically, they were to compare dynamical responses, and failure mechanisms and modes of composite structures in water and air to enhance the understanding of the effects of fluid-structure interaction on marine composite structural behaviors; and to identify the major factors of fluid-structure interaction that affect composite structures

Transient dynamic response and failure of composite structure under cyclic loading with fluid structure interaction Teo, Hui Fen (Monterey, California: Naval Postgraduate School, 2014-09);With the growing interest in using composites in naval shipbuilding, it is crucial to understand the behavior of structures, especially the Fluid Structural Interaction (FSI) aspect of the composites under dynamic loading, ...
Numerical study of effects of fluid-structure interaction on dynamic responses of composite plates Kendall, Peter K. (Monterey, California. Naval Postgraduate School, 2009-09);Composite materials are seeing increased use in structural applications because of their various benefits. When composite structures are employed in a water environment, their dynamic responses are greatly affected by the ...
