Abstract
The principal objective of this research is to demonstrate the capability of obtaining the acceleration in the navigation frame of a unistroke which can be written on any surface or in the air while correcting integration errors from the measurements of the IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) of the pen-type input devices. With the core topic of obtaining the acceleration while correcting integration errors, there are four subsidiary research questions relating to the pentype input devices. First question is how to segment a stroke from the tip of the pen-type input device movement of the user. Second question is how to adjust the integration errors rapidly growing as time increases. Third question is how to reconstruct 2-D trajectory from 3-D trajectory in the air. Fourth question is how to project the trajectory onto the x-y plane.
