dc.description.abstract | This thesis investigates the synthesis of smoothed impulse responses using sampled data of the input and output of random noise driven electromagnetic systems. Special interactive software was developed for NPS's time domain electromagnetic scattering laboratory. The system performs signal acquisition, synthesizes time and frequency domain scattering responses using broad band random noise and provides results as easily evaluated graphic displays. Attempted validations of the system are made by comparing synthesized impulse responses for microwave filters and transient scatterers to alternate experimental and computational data. | en_US |
