After a general statistical overview of Naval officers marriage relationships from the perspective of twenty-five husbands and wives and 135 other Naval officers in five different Naval communities, special marriage/ family problems during the early-mid-career stages of an officer's career are discussed. A model of the various types of Navy wives, their coping styles, and the implications for the officer's career, is presented
