Abstract
A computer program is presented which solves the search planning for survivors at sea. The program is designed to utilize weather data as compiled by the United States Navy at its Fleet Numerical Weather Center, Monterey, California. An investigation is also made into the search criteria used by the United States Coast Guard in its planning procedures. Guidelines are given for the use of the square search and the Sector search.
