dc.description.abstractThis interactive tutorial reviews the simplification of complex block diagrams using a set of rules applied in the following order: Combine all serial blocks (rule 1), Combine all parallel blocks (rule 2), Combine all inner loops (rule 3), Move summing junctions and pick off points to create new opportunities for applying rules 1-3, The interactions in this tutorial involve drag-and-drop matching exercises. There is also a sample problem for students to solve using "click-to-select" interactions.en_US
