Abstract
The objective of this thesis is to determine if a
mainframe computer Automated Information System (AIS) can be
simulated on a conventional microcomputer. To this end, the
topical areas of software, hardware, the simulation
development lifecycle, and systems testing and evaluation
are explored in-depth. The purpose of this in-depth subject
area examination is to demonstrate the tradeoffs and
decision points encountered in the systems management
lifecycle. Recommendations based upon these tradeoffs and
decisions are then presented. Lastly,, the conclusions
address the attainment of the thesis objective.
