Abstract
This thesis is a three-dimensional numerical analysis of Gas Turbine Test Cell #1 at Lemoore Naval Air Station, California. The Parabolic, Hyperbolic, or Elliptic Numerical Integration Code (PHOENICS) is used to determine the steady-state aerothermal characteristics within the test cell during the full power run-up of a GE F404 gas turbine engine (afterburner in operation). The method in which PHOENICS arrives at a solution is discussed as well as how the code was applied to this problem. The solution of the problem is presented in tabular form and the results are discussed. Recommendations for the future application of PHOENICS to this project are given.
