Abstract
The Naval Weapons Center is conducting a series of hydraulic ram effects
tests on simulated fuel tanks. 12.7mm API projectiles are fired at a fluidfilled
rectangular tank with a streched rubber membrane entry wall and a thin
20 inch x 20 inch aluminum exit wall. The computer code SATANS has been used,
in conjunction with the NWC code for the fluid pressure, to predict the
response of the exit wall to the passage of the 12.7mm projectiles. This
report presents the computer results.
