dc.description.abstract | We investigate network outages by systematically correlating inferred reboot events from probing the data plane with global routing events in the control plane. We introduce a correlation technique that can be used to strengthen inferences made about reboot events of IPv6 routers. We run correlation technique over two sets of inferred reboot event data and show how many reboot events correlate. We show the correlation can also be used to go in the other direction by inferring a reboot event took place inside a window based on global routing events and correlating it with an inferred reboot event from the data plane. Finally, we show that the technique used to infer reboot events of routers can also be used on other types of IPv6 infrastructure such as web servers and name servers. | en_US |
