Abstract
This study presents the derivation of a diffuser design parameter, which takes into account losses due to the geometry of the diffuser. A criterion for design of annular diffusers, using the design parameter to predict losses, is developed from reference data and model tests.
A curved wall annular diffuser was designed and tested to verify the predictions of the design criterion for an arbitrary diffuser.
