Abstract
This paper is not intended to prove the superiority of certain configurations over others, but rather to indicate some of the factors to be considered and the methods used in the design of a satisfactory ultra-high-frequency converter. Investigation of the problems involved was commenced in the fall of 1950 at the U. S. Naval Postgraduate School, and was continued through the winter at the Home Instrument Advanced Development Section of the RCA Victor Division of R.C.A., Camden, New Jersey. This work was done in order to present an overall picture of the ultra-high-frequency converter problems as they exist today, including some background and historical information.
