Abstract
The feasibility of an X-band (8.0-12.5 GHz) continuous-wave multiple-target radar employing linear frequency modulation was investigated. From available laboratory equipment a working model was constructed and tested. Separate parabolic antennas were used for transmitting and receiving. The transmitter employs a reflex klystron followed by low and high-level traveling-wave tubes. The receiver utilizes a single narrow-band crystal filter with a swept local oscillator for range search. Target data acquired with the developmental unit is presented.
