Abstract
Almost every structure consists of multiple pieces which are joined together. Those structures are either too large or too complex to fabricate as a single piece. Sometime, repair is made to an existing structure by adding additional pieces. As a result, joining technology is important to design and analysis of structures. This is also true for composite structures. While bolted joints can be applied to any materials, welding and bonded joints are for metallic and composite structures, respectively. Both bonded and bolted joints can be applied together at the same locations to enhance the strength of the connection.
