Abstract
Equipment readiness is an essential component in maintaining
the Marine Corps as this country's "Force in Readiness." This
thesis used a survey of the logistic system operators to
identify the four major improvement goals of command interest,
improved training, better use of personnel and a revised
stockage criteria to enhance Fleet Marine Forces equipment
readiness. Managerial techniques, such as management by objectives, process analysis and variable stockage criteria
are presented as possible means of attaining the goals
identified in the survey.
