dc.description.abstract | PEAPS (Passive Environmental ASW Prediction System) is a relatively unsophisticated model which accepts input source and receiver parameters and then predicts sound propagation characteristics in an ocean environment, the corresponding transmission loss, and the probability of detection. The program was written for a programmable desk-top calculator for immediate deployment and operational testing aboard small ASW platforms.
