Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine, to what extent the improvement in fatigue strength obtained by cold work is altered by cyclic stresses at elevated temperature. A series of fatigue tests were conducted using type 430 stainless steel in both the cold worked and the annealed conditions, at temperatures above and below the recrystallization temperature.
