Abstract
An analytical review of the operation of rotating, non-capillary heat pipes is presented, including a discussion of film condensation on the inside of a rotating, truncated cone. Predicted results so far obtained indicate that the heat transfer capability of rotating, non-capillary heat pipes depends upon condenser performance and is substantially higher than the capability of conventional, wicklimited heat pipes. The design and manufacture of an experimental rotating heat pipe apparatus is also described.
