Abstract
The Engine Depot Readiness Assessment Model (EDRAM) is part of a suite of Performance/Pricing Models (P/PMs) that has been used by the Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE) since 2004 to inform the development of the Navy's Program Objective Memorandum (POM) and predict the effects of funding decisions on readiness. We will examine the appropriateness of the modeling assumptions and internal decision rules that are employed by the EDRAM. This work is motivated by, and will be aligned with, current efforts supported by OPNAV N81 to study the system of P/PMs used by the NAE in order to clarify how they should be used to provide principled funding guidance that will lead to the sustained achievement of readiness goals.
