Abstract
A personnel system is simulated so that the personnel planner can use this simulation as a tool to help solve manpower problems utilizing the benefits of a computer. The input parameters are time in grade and time in the system of each individual, the manpower requirements in each grade, annual input to the system, and the number of years to run the simulation. The dynamic properties of the simulation are loss rates and promotion rates. A decision maker runs the model to determine the effects of change in the input parameters. One of the problems that can be solved with the model is manpower shortage. A sample problem is presented. Flowcharts and a listing of the FORTRAN programs are included.
