Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the incentive programs used in industry, and to determine which ones could be adapted for use in the United States naval service. In the course of this pursuit, it was necessary to study the financial and non-financial incentive employed in industry, to examine the incentives which are currently used in the Navy, and to study the proposed legislation which will affect the naval service in the immediate future.
