Abstract
Captain Bernard Wang was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Seattle, WA. He was commission in 1988 after graduation from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Upon graduation from the Surface Warfare Officer School in Coronado, CA, he was assigned to the USS FLETCHER (DD-992) from 1989-1992 as Communications Officer and Main Propulsion Assistant. During his three-year tour, the ship deployed three times to the Western Pacific, Northern Pacific, and Southern Pacific. He qualified as a Surface Warfare Officer during his second deployment in 1990.
