A brief memoir of W. Conley Smith, Professor of Electrical Engineering, regarding his career at the Naval Postgraduate School. It describes time both at the Annapolis campus, and after moving to Monterey. His reminiscences of the environment and his fellow faculty members are interesting and often amusing. The paper gives a snapshot look at the early years of the Naval Postgraduate School and what the perceptions of one of its faculty members were.
