Abstract
Solubilities have been determined at 25˚ for trans-Pd(NH₃)₂Cl₂ in solutions of NH₄NO₃, NH₄CI, and NaCl, in which media base hydrolysis is repressed. The data are interpreted in terms of the heterogeneous equilibrium involving the uncharged solute molecule and the homogeneous equilibrium for the first step of aquation, The concentration of neutral solute in the saturated solution is given as 9.5 X 10⁻⁴ M and the aquation equilibrium constant as 3.9 X 10⁻³.
