Abstract
Eighteen two-phase friction pressure drop models and correlations are compared to 2220 experimental steam-water pressure drop measurements under adiabatic conditions and 1230 in diabatic flow conditions. The data represents sev­eral geometries and has the following property ranges: Pressure - 250 - 1500 psia Mass Velocity .2X10(6) - 3.2X10(6)1bm/hr-ft(2) Quality - subcooled to 1.0 Equivalent Diameters - .0 9 - 1.3 in. The four models and correlations that coincided most nearly to the entire data collection were the Baroczy correlation, the Thom correlation and the homogeneous model two-phase friction multipliers, [handwritten equation] The correlations are also evaluated with the data being subdivided into sets which are based on properties.
