Abstract
This thesis presents an examination of operations within a typical Navy Regional Data Automation Command (NARDAC), specifically the Departments of Management Support and Data Processing Installation within NARDAC. The scope of this thesis will concern functional boundaries and changes to these boundaries as a result of a shift from mission funding to Navy Industrial Funding (NIF). The purpose of this examination is to discern not the propriety of the funding shift, but to critically examine operations as affected by the shift. In view of the changing environment in which NARDACs operate, some suggestions for organizational streamlining will be offered.
