Data provided is utilized through performance of statistical analysis of awards and decorations distributed to individuals by the Navy from September 2011 to September 2022. The data includes all level of awards for heroism and performance, totaling 23 different awards. The analysis compares active-duty Navy members by rank, gender, and race to analyze the disparity in distribution to females and minorities as compared to their Caucasian male counterparts. The study further analyzes the data separately for the officer and enlisted ranks. The analysis showed that, for the Navy, enlisted and Blacks received significantly fewer awards than expected.
