Abstract
A profile of Barbara McNitt, fondly remembered as wife of Rear Admiral Robert W. McNitt, who arrived to the Monterey area in October of 1967 as her husband began his tour as NPS Superintendent. Mrs. McNitt was active in many areas of the NPS Community, especially the annual benefits for the Hotel Del Monte ballroom. Her memory is honored by the "Cypress Tree" sculpture on display near today's Barbara McNitt Ballroom entryway.
