Abstract
The rapid development of new weapons for the armed forces calls for changes in the tactics employed and in the organization sizes using these new weapons; in certain cases completely new organizations must be developed to employ the new weapon. A method for the determination of optimal organization size is presented with particular emphasis on an organization employing a surface-to-air missile in support of ground combat troops. The method with appropriate modifications can be applied to any currently operational weapon and to new weapons in the development stage.
