Abstract

All practical work and a large part of the research preparatory to writing this thesis were done between January 5 and March 19, 1948, at the laboratories of the Advanced Developlmnt Group, R.C.A. Victor Division, Camien, New Jersey. The author desires to express thanks to officials of RCA Victor Division and more particularly to Mr. M. C. Batsel, Mr. H. Belar, Dr. E. W. Kellogg, and Mr. G. L.
