This interactive tutorial covers the following: The relationship between bandgap energy and the long wavelength cut-off of a detector response., The changes expected in long wavelength cut-off in response to changes in alloy composition and operating temperature.The interactions in this tutorial involve students using sliding scales to change the values of alloy composition, bandgap energy, cut-off wavelength, temperature, and intrinsic carrier concentration, and make observations of corresponding changes.
