Abstract

Description
A method is presented for the analytic design of linear control systems. Design is accomplished by the solution of an algebraic set of simultaneous equations derived from the design specifications. Specifications considered include the system damping ratio, undamped natural frequency, bandwidth, steady state error coefficients and root sensitivity. The method is shown to be fast, accurate, specific and capable of working with any number of parameters. In addition, the analytic approach minimizes dependence on graphical techniques and trial and error solutions.
