Abstract
The design of linear networks to satisfy frequency domain performance specifications is formulated as a problem in nonlinear programming. Three optimization algorithms, pattern search, gradient projection, and the Fletcher-Powell method, are applied in conjunction ith the network analysis program CALAHAN to the solution of the nonlinear programming problem. Examples which illustrate the range of application of the design programs are presented.
