Abstract
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have gained significant attention in various applications, including surveillance, reconnaissance, and data collection. This thesis explores the integration of intelligent tracking systems and advanced simulation techniques to enhance the capabilities and safety of UAV operations. The main objective is to build on the framework that was laid to leverage artificial intelligence and simulation technologies to improve tracking accuracy and adaptability to dynamic environments. Furthermore, this research emphasizes the importance of safety in UAV operations. To address this concern, the thesis investigates failsafe mechanisms when operating on code generated offboard the UAS. This code can be produced by any engineer using MATLAB and Simulink, so it is crucial to ensure the safety of the UAS and its surroundings by implementing the correct hierarchy of fail safes. In conclusion, this thesis contributes to the advancement of UAV technology by introducing an innovative approach to intelligent tracking and simulation. The results demonstrate that the integration of artificial intelligence and simulation technologies can significantly enhance UAV tracking capabilities and safety, making UAVs more adaptable and reliable in various applications. This research lays the foundation for further developments in autonomous UAV systems, with potential applications in fields such as search and rescue, surveillance, and tracking.
