Contract claims are an unacceptable by-product of the construction industry. Claims occur for many reasons: differences in contract interpretation, lack of perfection in the contract documents, failure to accurately estimate the cost of the project, errors in contract administration, acceleration, and delay. The majority of claims originate as disagreements in the field. Many of these claims or disputes could have been avoided by field personnel, given that they possessed ample knowledge about legal theories.en_US
