Abstract
The basic problem under consideration was the investigation of the possibility of measuring the current and wave shape of the beam being accelerated in the M.I.T. synchrotron. To approximate the synchrotron conditions, a linear accelerator and detector system were designed and constructed. A pulsed beam was formed at the electrongun end of the accelerator by driving the grid at 5^ megacycles with a TBY-d transmitter. The maximum acceleration possible with the system is 75,000 volts.
