Abstract
Radar target identification using electromagnetic scattering
in the Mie or resonant region is discussed.
Frequencies being used are those corresponding to wavelengths
from half the target size to one-tenth the target
dimensions. The frequency domain calibration of the free
field radar range at the Naval Postgraduate School is
performed and validated on several perfectly conducting
metallic spheres. Measurements of the radar cross section
and the phase of the return on several finite length, thin
walled, right circular cylinders were done.
