dc.description.abstract | The time lag in conventional voice communication circuits involved in the use of new techniques of warfare cannot be tolerated. This time lag has led to an ever increasing demand for more voice channels, where in reality what is required is a more efficient use of present channels by reducing the time lag. To answer this requirement a design of an automatic communications switching system is proposed. The system is designed to meet the voice communication environment created by military tactical data systems such as the Marine Tactical Data System. In addition it is intended as a proposed answer to the voice communication requirements of military headquarters such as battalion and higher. Using this system an operator can rapidly and automatically select any desired voice channel to enable voice communication with any other operator in the system with a minimum of time delay. | |
