Abstract
It is shown that desktop computers are excellent tools for carrying out thedetailed calculations necessary in molecular dynamics simulations. Thehigh-quality graphical capabilities of these machines allow detailed visualpresentations of dynamically evolving collision cascades which can help providenew insights into the mechanisms by which atoms are ejected.
