The projectﾒs main purpose is the reassurance of South Korea and Japan that the United States is committed to their defense and that our extended deterrent remains credible at a time of profound changes in Asia. The dialogues hosted by the Pacific Forum will also offer a chance for decision makers from the United States, South Korea, and Japan to assess areas of further cooperation on nuclear deterrence and related subjects.
