Abstract
A computer model which simulates Naval Gunfire Support of Small Independent Action Forces (SIAF) in an insurgentcontested area is presented. The mechanics of the model are described in sufficient detail t?o allow understanding by any user with a basic understanding of Naval Gunfire Support and computer simulation techniques. A detailed guide to preparing the input data deck required for simulation of a user defined problem is included. The problem definition and results of a partial feasibility study of the Seabased Tactical Deterrent Force (STDF) concept using the simulation model are presented as a means of providing some insight into the feasibility of the STDF concept and as an example of the use of the simulation model .
