Abstract
This thesis evaluates the integrated Product Data Management System (iPDM) with the intent of improving the current system in use by the United States Department of Defense (DoD). iPDM is an instance of a product data management (PDM) software application. Using a case study approach, this thesis asks where improvements can be made to the process of maintaining the iPDM system. The case study approach allows this thesis to measure aspects of this process by collecting metrics and evaluating them to discover the effectiveness of the process. These metrics show an organized process with advantages and disadvantages. The thesis concludes that iPDM is a good application with great potential but provides recommendations to change the current process by suggesting design and staffing considerations.
