Abstract
Ammonium perchlorate/polybutadiene acrylic acid propellant sandwiches were burned in a nitrogen purge atmosphere at various pressures in a combustion bomb designed for optical and rapid depressurization studies. A Hycam camera was utilized for taking high speed color schlieren and regular photographs to obtain information about the flame structure during combustion. The effects of pressure on flame structure are discussed.
