Abstract
This thesis reviews the development and application of current non-tactical shipboard ADP systems in the U.S. Navy, and provides an analysis of each systems' strengths and weaknesses. The primary focus of this review includes Perq/ZOG, WANG installations, and SNAP II. The methodologies of procurement, development and implemenation vary as widely as the scope and complexity of the various systems. This analysis provides insight into some primary management issues, limitations, and constraits encountered in providing non-tactical automatic data processing to the fleet.
