Abstract
Computer-based tools are designed and implemented to improve the quality and speed of the analysis of results from large scale optimization models. These tools are needed to manage the voluminous output generated by these models. This approach is applied to the United States Air Force model HEAVY ATTACK which is a largescale non-linear optimization program used to plan air-to-ground munitions requirements. A single execution of the model produces about 4,500 lines of results. The HEAVYATTACK decision-making process is studied and specific analysis tools are designed and implemented with a spreadsheet program on a personal computer.
