Abstract
Classification of electromagnetic scatterers by the annihilation of natural
modes is considered. After providing some historical background, the conceptual basis
of this methodology is discussed, followed by a development of the requisite theoretical
techniques. Implementations of some resonance annihilation schemes are illustrated and
resultant validations using synthetic signals, integral equation computations and scattering
measurements are featured.
