dc.description.abstractA theory is developed describing the process by which a signal induced at one point on a ferromagnetic toroidal core propagates to other locations about the core. Both qualitative and quantitative arguments are presented to support this description. An experiment is discussed which tests the proposed theory. A complete analysis of the results of this experiment is made and includes a quantitative comparison of the measured results with those predicted by the theory. In as much as this comparison shows excellent agreement between the experimental results and theoretical predictions, the proposed theory appears to explain quite adequately the circumferential propagation process in magnetic cores.
