dc.contributor.advisorThe illumination condition of an artificial earth satellite is investigated in relation to the geographic location of the sub- satellite point. A stochastic problem is formulated by postulating a "random" satellite, and the solution to this problem is indicated analytically. A statistical solution is obtained from a digital computer simulation program, together with a sensitivity analysis of parametric variations.
