dc.description.abstractThe method of optimizing the effectiveness of an "overall weapons system" and the concept of an overall system in this paper, stemmed from work carried on at the Military Operations Research Group of Lockheed Aircraft Corporation during the 1953 summer field trip. The models and examples used reflect operational and combat experience in the reconnaissance field as closely as feasibility of solution and security will allow.
