The purpose of the interface device is to make possible the collection of storage data from a laboratory instrument in punched paper tape format, suitable for subsequent transmission to a digital computer. Important aspects of the interface design are presented and problems encountered in this design are discussed. The Micrologic digital design is presented and its operation discussed.
